Preschool graduation
Elizabeth's daycare held a small graduation ceremony on Thursday, June 19. Elizabeth held a baton and lead the group as they marched into the room to the sounds of Pomp and Circumstance. She was so proud of herself! She received a certificate during the ceremony for her participation in preschool this year. Too cute!

My mother shared this beautiful poem with me recently. It is especially moving to me, as my beautiful daughter, Elizabeth, is just 3 1/2 years old.

What a week.
On my way to work on Monday morning, my car just died. I called AAA and was towed to the mechanic's, where I learned that my transmission was gone. So, I rented a car that afternoon and went car-shopping on Thursday. I bought a Toyota Sienna minivan--I guess I am now officially a mom! Elizabeth and I spent some time at Miss Kelly's yard sale this morning and then left to drop off the rental and to pick up the minivan. Tomorrow, she has an appointment at the Picture People for 4th of July pictures. Maybe, just maybe, we will go to see Kung Fu Panda, too. She's never been to the movies, but she's asked several times to see it. I think she's ready--we'll see!

Today is my 18th month LIDversary
I never thought I'd wait 18 months for my baby's referral--I only waited 6 1/2 months for Elizabeth's referral. Maybe by this time next year? Only time will tell...Busy weekend
On Friday, we met friends at a local farm for ice cream--yum!!! On Saturday, we stopped to play at a nearby playground. And, on Sunday, we brought Duncan home. As you can see from the photos, Elizabeth had a great weekend!

Meet Duncan*! Isn't he just adorable? We think so, too!*Elizabeth wanted to name him Dorito. I wanted to name him Moose. We compromised quite nicely.

a couple of new photos...
My camera died two weeks ago, and I have been going through withdrawal. Here are two great photos taken yesterday by new friends with their camera that I particularly liked, and one more from the Sea Dogs game a few weeks ago of Elizabeth with our friend, Miss Laurie--enjoy! (By the way, I bought a new dSLR today during my lunch hour--I'm so excited!--so I hope to post lots of new photos soon)...
