busy day!

Let's see...I left work early and met Dad and the kids at the podiatrist's office for Elizabeth's appointment.  She got her orthotics today--let's hope that as she continues to wear them that her foot and ankle pain eventually disappear.  While we were at the doctor's, Dad took Jack to karate.  Jack was chosen to demonstrate different moves by Kyoshi to the class three times!--woo hoo!  Afterwards, there was a pretty good water fight outside, from what I hear, and Jack got soaked (not that he minded).  Good thing he had a change of clothes in the car...Home for dinner, then out again for swim lessons.  Elizabeth did her first standing dive from the side of the pool tonight!  Oh, so proud of her!  Jack is doing really well, too--and I just love how cute he looks in his goggles!

let's try this again!

It's been a LONG time since I've blogged.  I will go back to where I left off in January, 2014, and over time write about what we were up to, but in the meantime...Elizabeth started field hockey camp today, and she LOVED it.  Jack stayed home by himself for a few hours until Dad arrived (a first for him).  I dropped Elizabeth off at the camp this morning, because she was really nervous--she had no idea what to expect.  Not to worry--she had such a good time that she now wants to play in the Fall.  So proud of her for trying something new!  This evening, she and Jack started swim lessons again.  Elizabeth wants to work on her diving this session; Jack will work on his breathing technique and freestyle swimming.  Jack's friend, Benny, is also in this class, so his mom and I sat together and talked while watching the kids swim.  It turns out that she will be Elizabeth's field hockey coach this Fall!

Tall Ships!

Elizabeth, Jack, and I went to Fort Williams today to watch the Tall Ships sail into Portland Harbor.  So many people!  and it was a bit overcast and chilly, but well worth it!  Jack liked a couple that looked like pirate ships, and Elizabeth and I were impressed by the Coast Guard Tall Ship, Eagle...

Yarmouth Clam Festival

I met Dad and the kids at the Clam Festival today after work so that we could watch the parade together.  John and Sara sat and watched with us--I think it's a tradition now!
happy kid!
