"An invisible red thread connects those who are destined to meet, regardless of time, place, or circumstance. The thread may stretch or tangle, but will never break." --An ancient Chinese belief

we had a great Saturday
We went to the movies again today--we saw Brave, which turned out to be a little scary for both kids. We stuck it out, though, and they both said that they really enjoyed it. After the movie, we went to the store and bought bows and arrows for both of them, which they couldn't wait to try out. On the way home, we stopped to play at Willard Beach for a little while. It turned into a bit of a photo shoot...

Jack's preschool 'gradulation'
|
marching in--love that expression!
performing
what a dancer!
doing the Tootie Ta
Jack and his jie jie
we love Miss Kelly very much!
what's a party without a cake?
Jack was the only preschooler to graduate, just like his jie jie. As for the ceremony, after marching in, the children said the Pledge of Allegiance and then performed several songs for us:
Days of the Week (sung to the Adams Family theme song),
Months of the Year (sung to the tune of the Macarena),
I Have Super Manners,
If You're Thankful and You Know It
I Have Two Feet, How 'Bout You?,
Reach, Reach, Way Up High,
The Beary Boogie (with teddy bears, sung to the tune of the Hokey Pokey),
Teddy Bear, Teddy Bear, and
The Tootie Ta
Miss Kelly created a wall of photos of Jack, taken by her of him at daycare and in preschool
such a little boy! he discovered that his diploma made a great telescope
what did you get?
cool! a piggy bank!
good friends
with Luke
with Maddy
Maddy, Jack, and Gavin
best friends
with Paisley
After the ceremony and the performance, Jack opened his presents (including tissues for his perpetually runny nose), and we watched a slide show that Miss Kelly made with photos she'd taken of Jack in daycare and in preschool, set to music. I cried. There were many, many photos of Jack sleeping, including more than a few of him having fallen asleep right in the middle of eating lunch or snack--according to Miss Kelly, Jack's her very best sleeper. :) We stayed 'til after dark and then headed home--thank goodness it's only across the street! I am so proud of my handsome, smart, funny little boy! Look out, kindergarten, here he comes!

movie night
We went to see Madagascar 3 this evening and really enjoyed it. Jack did great during the movie, with only a few reminders from me to "whisper, please!.' The only not-so-fun part was as we were leaving--Jack decided to run up and down down the stairs inside the theater and, of course, he fell and skinned his chin. There were a few tears, but after a quick trip to the store and a new pair of toy handuffs, he was all smiles.
