the smile and the sign say it all!

Jack's first summer camp experience

Jack attended Summer Adventure Camp this week through the town rec department.  I thought it only fair that he get to experience going to camp as Elizabeth went to cheering camp last week.  He had a wonderful time!  On Wednesday, they went to Sebago Lake State Park for the day (he brought home plenty of sand from the beach there to prove it!).  Yesterday, they went to Storyland.  The highlight of that day seems to have been the Bamboo Chute, but he also loved the raft ride, the flying fish, and the twirling turtles.  On Monday, Tuesday, and today, they went swimming at Greely Pool, made crafts and puppets for a puppet show, played on the playground, and played games in the school gym at the middle school.  A few tears at drop-off on Wednesday (from him, though seeing him cry always makes me teary) but all in all he's enjoyed himself immensely.  I'm sure we'll do it again next year.
*I received a phone call at around 2 p.m. this afternoon from one of the camp counselors about an incident in the locker room after today's swim.  Apparently, while they were changing, one of the other little boys in Jack's group jokingly placed his hand down on the bench in the locker room, so that Jack, who was naked, unknowingly sat on it.  It sounds as if it was just horseplay, but I'm glad they called me to tell me about it.  We'll talk about it when he gets home.

Elizabeth

Elizabeth and I had a Mommy and Me week this week.  While Jack spent the week with the grandparents, Elizabeth spent the week at home with me so that she could go to cheering camp.  She had a wonderful time and learned a lot--she can now do a back handspring!  Wow!

We didn't do much this weekend, but we did go to the movies-we saw Monsters University at the cinema in Westbrook...

Happy Fourth of July!

I met Jack, Elizabeth, and the grandparents in Rangeley after work to watch the fireworks.  I brought the dog this time--I'm not sure he particularly enjoyed the fireworks, but he sure liked being loved on by Jack and Elizabeth and the two little girls seated in front of us!
