We took Elizabeth to see the Portland Sea Dogs play the New Britain Rock Cats today--her first minor league baseball game! She was very excited to go, but said at the outset that she did NOT want to meet Slugger, the Sea Dogs' mascot, nor did she want to meet the Trash Monsters. All that changed once she entered the ball park! She was really interested in Slugger throughout the game but, when given the chance to meet him up close, passed. When the game was over (the Sea Dogs won, 15-11, by the way), she left with her very own stuffed Slugger! Too cute! She loved the music, the food, particularly the Sea Dog biscuits (vanilla ice cream between two chocolate chip cookies) and Nanny's fried dough, and stomping her feet. The weather was breezy and in the 70s--just a perfect day.
