Boston!

Elizabeth didn't have school. so I decided we would go on an adventure--to Boston!  We arrived at the train station, only to find out that the train to Boston was full (it was Friday, the 13th, after all), so we ended up taking the bus instead.  We arrived at South Station and, after asking a police officer for directions, walked over to the Children's Museum.  We then spent the next several hours there.  As soon as we went inside, Elizabeth and Jack immediately ran to this rope-climbing thing that was 3 stories tall and started climbing to the top.  Somewhere in the middle, Elizabeth panicked, and she cried until she was able to find her way out.  (She recovered pretty quickly because she wanted to climb it again a little later in the day).  Jack, on the other hand, showed no fear and scrambled to the top and back down again several times.  Jack's favorite thing at the museum?  the excavator in the construction zone.  Elizabeth's?  the bubble room.  As for me, I had a great time just watching them enjoy themselves.  We took the T to North Station and the Amtrak train home but our trip back was not without a bit of excitement.  When Jack stepped onto the train, his foot slipped into the space between the train and the platform, and his leg just disappeared.  My heart stopped--I thought for a moment that he was going to fall onto the tracks--but he hung there until I could scoop him up.  He burst into tears and cried until we took our seats, but he was all smiles again when the train left the station.
