receiving his trophy from Coach Alan
 |

Jack's last soccer game this year was on Monday afternoon. It was a make-up game, and he played until dark. Because she didn't have cheering practice, Elizabeth got to watch him play for the first time and even got to play a little on the field with him. She had such a good time and said she'd like to play, too--which surprised me, considering I'd tried my darnedest to sign her up last fall but she refused to give it a try. We'll see how our schedules look if she still wants to play next year. The kids actually played a soccer game this time, and the first time Jack got the ball, he got so excited that he dribbled it down the field and kicked it right into the other team's net! Oh, my goodness--Elizabeth and I were laughing and yelling to him from the sidelines, No! No! That's the wrong net! but I guess he didn't hear us. Not to worry--the next time he got the ball, he scored--he made at least a couple more goals for his team before practice was over. He had such a good time tonight (which makes this mommy very happy!). His favorite soccer moment? Receiving his trophy from Coach Alan, of course! He thinks his trophy is super cool--it's just like the Piston Cup!
